Subject: FUNtastic Nantasket Beach Triathlon : Official Thread

We've got 29 days beforee this race...YAHOO! This was my very first race 2 years ago. Such a fun and scenic race. This year I am getting my husband and a friend off the proverbial couch and into racing. We are doing this race as a relay team. I've got the swim portion. Went out with the hubby today to show him the bike course. Then while he relaxed on the beach I swam 1/2 mile. I forgot how the ocean pushes you around.

Did this last year, and it is a fun race. The swim was short, but it was a long run back up the beach. The best part was the run on the beach. Very cool idea, and its fun to see the finish waaaay off in the distance as you make the turn around. Good motivation. Will likely do this one again this year.

Its like running on a track. They do the race at low tide so the run 'trail' is the hard packed sand closer to the water. you won't get wet, and its not torn up. at the end you need to run up a ramp to the finish chute. Its a good race, and worth going to it.

This was my first tri 2 years ago. Had a great time and am doing it again this year. This will also be my brother's first tri!!! The beach run is nice and the bike is FLAT!!! Can't wait!!!!

I am so not ready for this race. i've been a total slug the past couple weeks for a bunch of reasons. won't be making the FOP guys nervous, thats for sure

Will be a chilly start to the race -- temps are looking like low 50's at race time. Maybe the water will feel warm?

I was in the water 2 days ago.... Not too bad with a wetsuit. 2 years ago it was wet, windy and cold. If the sun comes out Sunday, then its already better

How'd everyone make out yesterday? I had a good time, but my swim was a disaster due to swallowing a bunch of seawater. Went to breath and got water. yuck. Rough water no friend either!

Bike & Run were fun. Loved running on the beach. It was a beautiful day to be out there!

I was on a relay team so all I did was the swim. Yeah it was ruff out there. Lots of wind kicking up lots of surface waves. I got several mouthfuls of water 2!
