Comments: As soon as I started I knew my legs were not feeling it. But, I pushed through hoping they would loosen up. Okay first mile, but at the 1.5 mile mark my legs felt like lead. Since my marathon is about a month away, and a bit more important to me, I pulled up for the last mile and a half. Save the legs to run another day. Sometimes you have it, sometimes you dont. What would you do differently?: Warm up a little more. Perhaps hydrate days before race a little better. I know I am not going to take any water in on the course, but I was pretty cotton mouthed after the first mile. I should expect the warmth, sfterall it is still August. Post race Warm down: Waited for the rest of the people I was with at the finish line to cheer them in. What limited your ability to perform faster: Just one of those days. Event comments: As always a great race, for a great cause. I will be back next year. Last updated: 2011-08-14 12:00 AM |

Gatorade prime about 20 minutes prior to race.
Jogged about a quarter mile. Perhaps I should have jogged a bit more to warm up.
