Sunny
Total Time = 1h 03m 40s
Overall Rank = 11/105
Age Group = M35-39
Age Group Rank = 4/8
Pre-race routine:

Hustled to get to Boulder, I didn't get up till 4:45 and pretty much floored it all the way to the Res.
Event warmup:

No warmup, it was too darn cold.
Swim
  • 1h 03m 40s
  • 4224 yards
  • 01m 31s / 100 yards
Comments:

4th out of 8 in the AG- and I finished 11th overall. M35-39 is a tough AG. I had a decent swim considering I haven't done jack in the last 2 weeks. I barely kicked at all, relied on upper body only. Overall a good effort, definitely a fun race.
What would you do differently?:

Not have arthritis and a bum knee :)
Post race
Warm down:

Sick to my stomach big time. I was an absolute mess. Still am right now... not sure what's wrong.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of ability to kick.

Event comments:

Fun race, great way to wrap the summer down. Amazing talent in Boulder.

Great job Matt!  I'm impressed that you made it to Boulder with a 4:45 wake up.  I was up at 4:45 for a running race in my own town!
