m2tx - 2011-09-28 12:00 AM USAT rules is 78f or lower for wetsuit. If you're not in contention for awards, I believe you can wear a wetsuit for temps up to 83.9F. I won't be eligible for awards with my times- so I'll be wearing a wetsuit. I think I have to be pretty close to 2:00 time to get a shot at a podium...and I won't be anywhere close. My goal for this race is to beat my time from last year for all 3 sports by 5 min...and I wore a wetsuit last year so I'll be wearing a wetsuit again this year unless it is 84F in the water on Sunday.I'm not a fast swimmer but fairly decent on the bike so I have to do a lot of passing on the bike course. I won't be too aggressive on those iffy sections and will have to be extra alert. Of course, the update indicates the road will be paved by tomorrow. I'll scout it out on Saturday just to make sure I know where the most dangerous sections are.

Amen! I will be doing the same.

The bike course is much better today.  The gravel section has fresh asphalt!  Still some areas with some cracks and bumps especially in first 4 miles, but after that, it's not bad at all.

Definitely wetsuit temps - was 72F this morning when it was measured and we have similar overnight lows tonight.

Good luck to everyone!

I'll be there in a Triple Threat Tough kit #586

Bike course was much, much better than it was earlier in the week.  Kudos to the folks in charge for making sure most of the rough stuff was re-paved before the race.  Fun event!

Saw someone go down around mile 18 on the bike course. It was right in front of the police at an intersection. Anyone know if she's ok?
