While its not in Baton Rouge but rather Lafayette, check with Mark Miller at Precision Bikes. Im sure he could help out.  Great shop and super knowledgeable!

I went to a LBS near me, but they pretty much only wanted to sell me a cannondale slice 5..which was just a bit more than what im wanting to spend..they were kind of stand offish about my questions too..maybe I'll make a phone call to him one these days before I make the trip over there..

I definitely think it would be worth the trip! If you decide to come over this way give me a call and we can meet up for lunch and a little BS session! I may have a line on a Quintana Roo if you are interested.

I just noticed your height and the QR my buddy has is a small bike. I am 5'7" and its a touch on the small side for me! Sorry. I am sure you've looked around Craigslist and such. Seems like there are always a few on there. I still think Mark could probably help you find something.

Ah alrigh, no biggie. Yeah I frequent craigslist..there was a sweeeeet all carbon..I'm not even sure what it was tri bike up about a week or so ago(not a mainstream frameset)..it was the perfect size with only 50 miles on the frame.. Guy only wanted $850 for it..it's gone now though :/

First thing, decide if you want a road bike or a TT/ Tri bike; Second, need to get sized for a good fit. I bought my bike off of Ebay, BT has a classified section and so does slowtwitch... Good Luck

I'm almost positive I want a TT bike to start with..I'm hoping to find one used on here within my height range..I'm thinking 54-56..and then get it fitted at my LBS..I know that is a huge step in a great ride so I'm going to get it done right...I just don't particularly want to buy from my LBS because all they want to sell me is a cannondale slice 5.0...which is quite a bit out of my price range...I really can't wait to race with you guys this upcoming season...already improved my running technique by slowly switching to forefoot..can't wait to start riding!

Just looked on craiglist for BR and there's a tri bike on there for $1500. Looks like a nice bike.

As many great bikes I've seen on craigslist, I'm trying to hold out and buy from an LBS next year. Until them I'll have to be happy with my Walmart special POS.

Is it that blue trek? It's wayyy over priced if so..its a 2000 and he wants only a little less than he paid for it..

There are two different P3SLs on New Orleans Craigslist right now. I think they are both priced kind of high (one at $1k and one at $1250) but you can always take a look and try to negotiate.
