Subject: Anyone else have chronically weak solei (calf)?

My achilles heel in running is, ironically, right around the corner at the soleus.  Sometimes it's the outside.  Sometimes the inside.  But every time I start getting to 20-25 miles a week running, I have issues thatmake me stop.  Usually a tightening during a run that gets progressively worse and turns tight/painful, making me stop.  Had to walk 4 miles of a 10K yesterday,  felt great going in, no twinges, then by mile 1.5 just started getting tight.

The interior "strains" heal rather fast, within a few days and really just feel like a deep bruise.  The exterior strains take longer.

Anyone else have these kinds of issues and ways to prevent it?
