Regular  64 |  Subject: Calgary 70.3Has anyone heard if Calgary 70.3 is a go for 2012? I know they announced a date but they aren't listed on the 70.3 website and there is no sign of the race website being updated or registration opening... |

Regular 459 | Subject: RE: Calgary 70.3 I've been watching it as well and am a bit concerned. I was flip-flopping between 70.3 and GWN, but had decided on 70.3. Now, I'm concerned that 70.3 won't run, and it will be too late to sign up for GWN. |

Member 52 | Subject: RE: Calgary 70.3 What I have heard from a few people in the loop is that its definitely still on. It won't be the August long weekend next year though. It'll likely be the week before or the week after the August long. The week before would allow more people to race both IMC and Calgary 70.3 but would hurt the Sylvan Lake Half, the week after would probably mean no one doing both IMC and Calgary 70.3 but would be better for the earlier summer races. They've received a lot of feedback that racers from Calgary would rather spend the long weekend doing family stuff outside of the city, while people travelling are going to take a couple days off for the race anyways. From the email they sent to me: "We are planning to have the 4th edition of Ironman Calgary on July 29, 2012. We are planning some of the final details before we launch the next edition mid-october." |
