Run
Comments: This was my first Marathon so I wasn't sure what to expect. The last long run I did I managed to tweak my knee and it hasn't been the same almost up until race day, so I have tried to focus on consistency rather than long distance, to make sure I was still running. I wore the knee brace which has really helped with my recovery and has allowed me to keep running. It was a very flat course so I didn't mind. I felt really good all the way through but was starting to getting pretty tired at the end. I think I paced myself well for what I could have done. What would you do differently?: Ran more consistent and would have liked to put in some more longer runs. Post race
Warm down: drank two containers of Chocolate milk, and walked around. What limited your ability to perform faster: I think the inconsistant training and my diet was has not been very good recently. Event comments: I thought this was a great first Half Marathon for me. Having an entire street closed for the event was really nice along with able to run through the park. Woke up early, being this is my first Half Marathon I didn't know what to expect so I wanted to make sure that I wasn't rushed for anything. I grabbed a muffin at DD, and made it to the race site by 6:15AM, Full Marathon start time was 7:30AM and Half was 8:00AM I wanted to make sure I beat the traffic.
None really, just made sure I had all my gear on and felt comfortable
