Total Time = 4h 57m 2s
Overall Rank = 3803/4741
Age Group = F35-39
Age Group Rank = 216/311
Event warmup:

Walk from the hotel to the race start.
  • 4h 57m 2s
  • 26.2 miles
  • 11m 20s  min/mile

My plan was to start off slow, very slow and just enjoy the day. And that is exactly what I did! I did IMLOU seven weeks ago and I had a tougher time recovering from that race than I had expected. So, I just went out and ran at a pace that my body could handle and enjoyed every minute of it!

It was a perfect day for a Marathon. A little cool, but not too cold, overcast, but no rain. A little windy in spots, but not too bad. The sun even came out for awhile toward the end.

I stayed very consistant with my pace, 2:27 first half/2:30 second half. I was slow, but ran the entire time. My heel bursitis bothered me most of the time, but other than that I felt really good.

This was my 10th Marathon (8 stand alone's & 2 IM's) and my 3rd time running Columbus.
What would you do differently?:

Post race
Warm down:

My husband, who ran a 3:13, waited for me to finish and we walked back to the hotel.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Doing a Full Ironman 7 weeks ago.

Event comments:

Columbus is a great Marathon, will definately participate again.

I'm glad to hear you completed this race according to your plan and without causing any injuries after your Ironman.

Also congrats on the 10th marathon.  That in itself is pretty great, in my opinion.

Oh and by the way tell your husband to stay away from my age group!  I don't need anymore competition.  It's already stiff enough in the 40-44's and I'm slower than him.
