Comments:

shared lane
What would you do differently?:

more powerful flipturns, better streamline and breathing coming out of my turns...
need a new triathlon bikini!
Transition 1
  • 05m
Comments:

decided since there was plenty of time and the transition was in the women's locker room to take off my wet bottoms...put on dry underwear and my new cycling shorts!

forgot my walkman and had to return to my locker, but was still first in my wave to report to the bikes
Bike
  • 20m
  • 6.13 miles
  • 18.39 mile/hr
Comments:

took my water/music to the bike

remained over 90 rpm entire race, way over training rate! results would have been different if we were not on stationary bikes
What would you do differently?:

need to experiment with stationary bike to figure out what combination of resistance level/rpm will produce best results for distance
Transition 2
  • 05m
Comments:

not sure we had quite 5 minutes here
Run
  • 15m
  • 1.91 miles
  • 07m 51s  min/mile
Comments:

started at 7:30 pace for a few minutes-too fast!
slowed down to 8:00 pace, maintained this and picked it up a little at the end

also took my water and music to the treadmill with me!

here is where i felt out of shape!

cheered the other girls home, but do not think they shared my enthusiasm
What would you do differently?:

been able to sustain a faster pace!
Post race
Warm down:

a few minutes on the treadmill
some shopping at marshall fields!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

not being as in shape as i would like to be

Event comments:

the staff was real friendly/helpful and was right there cheering us on at the bike and treadmills

**placed 11th in my age group
