Morning Ghoulies.

Another rainy day. We had 2.5 inches here yesterday, more in the high lands. That means high water today. I may take some time and go watch the insane kayakers in the river. The river here is technical on a good day, wild on days like today. There is a part of me that wishes that I were a good enough kayaker to go down it, the other part says STOOPID people!

The kayaking part sounds like me. I wish I were better at it, but I'm not insane enough to get better.

Well said Ann. I feel sorry for folks that want every day, including Christmas,  to be just like every other day.

I feel sorry for them, too. Even if they aren't religious, Christmas can still be celebrated. I was appalled this year that so many stores were open on Thanksgiving, or were opening at Midnight for Black Friday. I am a firm believer of 1 holiday at a time. I felt bad that the employees couldn't spend the holiday with their families. I'd bet money the corporate suits who made the decision to be open weren't running a cash register or stocking a shelf somewhere on Thanksgiving.

I wish we still had the laws that said retail businesses had to be closed on Sundays.  I think that it was great that everyone could have a day off at home with their families, and have nothing to do with religion.

My vacation was fabulous.

Sunday walked around Playa de Carmen.  Had to buy two new suitcases because the airline destroyed both of our suitcases, destroyed enough that they could not be used to safely transport our stuff home in.  We ate at a restaurant on the beach.  Lovely.

Monday - beach and pool day.

Tuesday - tour to Xel Balam - Mayan temple ruins.  Very nice.  Swam in a centoe. Visited a recreated Mayan village, artisians and then a spanish town.

Wednesday - beach and pool day.

Thursday - Zip lines, swimming in a cenote, no turkey.  Afternoon on the beach.

Friday - beach and pool day.

Today I went to the dr and I am off of all of my medications for blood pressure, cholosterol and triglicerides.  yahoo!  I actually took myself off of the blood pressure medicine a week ago when I got really dizzy at the Mayan temple.  So after a week of no meds for it my pressure was 110/80 today.  Could not get any better.  I am sooooooo happy.  Go back in three months to do blood work to check on the other stuff.  And if it is all good I can come off of those for good too.

So, today after my good news I treated myself to some cheese bread.  It tasted great, but it did not fulfill me, so I guess the whole foods way of eating really is best.  So, back to being good and trying to get the last 20 pounds off to reach my main goal.

Morning Ghouligans

I am in for the Challenge. I am off to go do some sampling. Gotta love it. Windy windy windy and COLD. Fun day to be digging in lead contaminated dirt.

Livin the dream here.

Two interesting tidbits from my life: We had a bear get in the trash last night and strew it all over the place AND our new stray cat knows how to pee in the toilet. Just discovered that one.
