Comments: Went out a little slow; if the mile markers were acurate, my first mile was in 9:17. Picked up the pace over the second mile and maintained the faster pace the rest of the way. What would you do differently?: Go out faster, had quite a bit left in the tank after the race. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Walked around and did some stretching. Had some bannans and a couple of bottles of water. What limited your ability to perform faster: Inexperience. Have not done a lot of races so I don't have a good feel for how fast I can start out. Event comments: Needed more volunteers to help block traffic. At one point there were three cars between me and the next runner up. Could have used another drink station on the course (there was only one). Overall though the race was fun and would probably do it again. Last updated: 2005-10-08 12:00 AM

Found out about this race the day of. Never ran an afternoon event before, so I ate lunch around 12:30 and tried to stay hydrated throughout the day. Got to race about an hour early so I could register.
Usual race day warmup: five minutes VERY slow running, ten minutes stretching, five minutes faster running, more stretching. Walked around and tried to stay lose before the race started.
