Run
Comments: The pack totally ran away from me from the first 50 feet on! I kept a small group in sight in front of me which was comforting. Hills not too bad, I think I walked just one. What would you do differently?: More run workouts! Transition 1
Comments: For this short DU, I should have put on pedals with cages. Lost a lot of time changing shoes, but also ditching layers of clothing. 45 degrees & rainy, but really overheated on the run. Bike
Comments: Seat adjusted a little too low, bike not shifting right. Short of a tune up the night before, it was working fine 2 days before. Must have gotten knocked around a bit in the back of the van. What would you do differently?: Not much. better training, nothing specific. Measure saddle height and mark it, use pedals with cages to speed transition. Transition 2
Comments: Same probs as T1, shoe changes wasted time. Run
Comments: Impressed with pace in spite of the walking that I did. Post race
Warm down: Change clothes, eat pasta, shiver What limited your ability to perform faster: Training, weather, transition changes. Event comments: Organization fantastic for first year race. Scads of volunteers, PD & FD to help, road closures, well marked, smiling faces everywhere. Great raffle at end. BEST awards I've ever seen, gold, silver & bronze railroad spikes! Wake about 6:30, shower & dress for weather. AM coffee in lobby, PB&J sandwich packed from home.
A few jogs across the field with the warmup exercises I did earlier in the week.
Visit with ART therapist who worked on my right psoas. Felt good, nice and loose, no pain.
