I'm 4 days back from my vacation in the Dominican Republic. I had an awesome time dancing every night in the Discotech and would love to get my hands on some of the latest Latin Club Disco Music. The only song title I remembered was "Gasolina". Does anyone know anything about this type of music? I know I can check any of the music download sites, but I want infor from a real person as to what are the popular songs... Gracias!

do you have cable? watch spanish tv.  I'm sure you'll find something there.  They should have some bands on the talk shows or Sabado Gigante or something.  We have like five espanol channels and we don't even have cable!!

Just downloaded it... sounds interesting...

I used to have these great CDs a friend made for me of his DJ boyfriend's mixes -- all latin club music, but they got stolen with all my other CDs...  so sad

WinMX.com.  Yeah, it's illegal, but... what can I say, I'm a broke music-lover.

Gasolina is a popular Reggaeton hit by Daddy Yankee. I like Reggaeton but like rap, sometimes the lyrics are offensive (well, if you don't understand it it may not count LOL )
You have Reggaeton, Salsa, Merengue.....
There are so many artists. Here are some:
Reggaeton: Daddy Yankee, Zion & Lennox, Luny Tunes, Don Omar, Tego Calderon, Wisin Y Yandel.
Fusion / Hip-Hop (kind of a fusion Nuyorican salsa-hip-hop, very upbeat music) :
Proyecto Uno (I really like their music), DJ Mendez, Delinquent Habits, Magic Juan, Vico C, Orishas, Control Machete, Ozomatli.
Salsa: Elvis Crespo, India, Los Van Van, Celia Cruz, Yerba Buena, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Willie Chirinos, Oscar D'Leon, Ruben Blades.
Merengue: Juan Luis Guerra (440), Ilegales, Olga Tanon, Wilfrido Vargas, El General.
These are just few artist but I am sure you will have something to start with

Try looking for a type of music called "Soca".  It's on the BBC radio website, it may be similar.  I had a blast at a club on Roatan, an Island off of Honduras listening to similar caribbean club music.

Wow, thanks guys! I got online last night and realized I'm totally over my head. It does me no good to look at the song list if I can't hear them. Then once I do I don't understand it anyway. My spanish is actually quite good, conversationally speaking, but for rap and pop music, I'm totally out of my league.

Check out Launchcast.com -- it's Yahoo's music streaming and downloading site.  It lets you listed to at least part of the song "on demand" or you can listen to "fan sites" to hear all kinds of similar music.  It's not the best site out there, but it works well-enough for me.

Also, I know that some of what is listed on Amazon.com can be previewed.

I got on Amazon last night because I remembered "people who bought this also bought....." so I figured why not enter Daddy Yankee and go from there. Well I got some Spanish hard core gangsta rapper that had my husband and I rolling on the floor. I can only imagine what he was saying but i'm sure it wasn't nice. We were nuts!!!! I came up with my best idea yet- my folks are going to the same resort in January. I'm going to write a note to the DJ asking for the names and artists of the songs he plays so I can make a CD, how about that?!? On I would send my family out of the country because I found a few good songs to listen to. LOL, just kidding.

I had completely forgotten about Los Van Van and the others.  I love love love love love latin and caribbean music.
