9th Annual Dash for Organ and Tissue Donor Awareness
10K Run, 5K Run and 2 Mile Walk
Philadelphia Museum of Art - West River Drive, Phila., PA

My friend Joe's dad had a heart transplant 8 years ago. Every year we go to the event in honor and support of his dad and other organ donor/receipients.

After the festivities, we have a big group family picnic.

Comments:

Finished 10th overall and 2nd ( out of 36) in my age group. Can't really complain.

The early season heat took a toll on final race times today. Not too many runners acclimated to race temperatures reaching into the low 80's.

Course:	West River Drive. Flat, out and back A very busy day on West River Drive today! The morning started out with the Penn Relay's runners at 8:00 a.m. Then the Donor Run closed out its morning at 11:00 a.m. with about 2,000 walkers also doing a 2 mile walk out and back on West River Drive. A very special thank you to the Philadelphia police officers who were working it all this morning. They did an excellent job helping us get our equipment out and then off of the race course, especially with the tight time constraints due to the multiple events taking place so close to each other. Thank you to the many, many volunteers who are so personally involved with the success and mission ofthe Dash for Organ Awareness
