Subject: Newbie in need of help!
Hello everyone, I am glad this site is in exhistence. I need some help and quickly. I am attempting to goto Ranger School and I need to get my run time in the low 14's to 13's consistently. I weight 217lbs. and I run a 15:40 2 mile. I will take any advice and diet plan you recommend. Being a Ranger is like being a triathele so this is probably the best place to start.

I'll reserve judgement until I hear your fitness routine. As long as you get your calorie intake to around 500 per day less that your current burn rate you should start dropping about a pound a week. When is your next run test?

It sounds like you are running for a distance instead of running a set time each time you work out. I've heard that the best way to start training is to build endurance by running a set time. As you build endurance, you're going to start running faster.

There are some great plans here for helping you build your endurance that you can follow. I followed the "Couch to 5k (aggressive)" plan and it worked out great for me.

Thank you, I will look for some programs and start building from there.
