The lurking part doesn't annoy me. It's the lying about who he is based upon what he learned about my interests, likes, attitudes, and opinions based upon what he learned by lurking at BT.

I can't imagine pretending to be someone I'm not to impress someone else. I like who I am. If you (general other person) don't like me, it's because you haven't given yourself a chance to know me. Or because you have some defect of character. Or because I'm not for you - I'm the red wine of people, not for everyone.
