Pre-race routine:

Arrived at the site 1 hour prior to the start of the race. I woke up at 6:00 AM and ate oatmeal. I drank 16 ounces of water. I arrived at the site at 8:00 AM and listened to the radio to get psyched up for about 30 minutes.
Event warmup:

I stretched on my tailgate for 10-15 minutes. Then I jogged a very short distance under the bridge. I did not attempt to raise my heart rate prior to starting the race.

Event comments:

I had practiced the bridge 2 times before and this was by far my quickest run by nearly 3 minutes. It was a very hard race though. I had a great time and we won the team comp. for the most runners on a team.

Performance:
Course: Very steep incline. The bridge rises 200 feet in about 3/4 mile. Then there is 300 feet of flat on the top of the bridge and a steep decline for 3/4 mile. The you turn back and go over and down the bridge again.
