Started the "official" training program today for Wisconsin. Unless my math was wrong, it should be 26 weeks away..... Good luck to all who'll be at Wisconsin. It'll be my first IM distance, so hopefully it'll go OK.

I did Florida in November, took 2 weeks off, and have been in crusier mode ever since.  Usually about 10-11 hours per week of training.  I will be focusing on running for the next month or so, then will begin the slow progression of training for Florida.

Just picked up my new bike to ride the course in Wisconsin....

Larry...nice bike. I've got a few buddies who have the Lucero. Awesome.

I've started the ramp up for IMWI, but I'm really concentrating on swimming and biking at this point and just keeping my running steady.

One of Our Latest Innovations ... ISM Seats

Blackwell research is very proud to bring you the ISM seat line. The "Ideal Saddle Modification" was developed by Steve Toll out of Tampa Fl.  Steve was another longtime cyclist that had recurring seat "issues" and decided to give a shot at finding a better solution. Through much trial and error, Steve hit on a shape that delivered the comfort and support he was looking for. During a meeting with John Cobb at a triathlon, Steve decided he would bring his designs and prototypes to our labs for development help. With information gained from our TekScan systems and further research which included seat evaluations at the famous European seat lab of Dr. Frank Sommers of the University of Cologne, the first in a series of ISM seats was developed.

This first seat was designed for the Comfort bike market, with a Sport seat and racing/triathlon specific seat next in line. The Comfort seat is ideal for Hybrid bike riders, Mountain bikers and Industrial applications. Police bikes are an area of special concern; Steve Toll is a former police officer and is very aware of the special needs of these riders.

The Sport seat is a little Narrower and is ideal for Spin Bikes at the gym, Mountain bikes and road bikers with a more upright rider position. These seats offer instant relief from numbness and associated crotch pressures.

The new racing seat has been specifically designed to work with riders using aero bars and doing long distance races. With extensive input from John Cobb on the shape of the sides and the sit bone support areas, ISM developed a seat that will give you all day comfort. The racing seat has special Gel areas for spreading out load impact along with a very special designed base plate to help build the "cradling " needed to relieve neck and shoulder strain. All ISM seats come with complete instructions with proven techniques to help you get the initial setup done correctly. Sure, these seats look different; they have to, because to make an advance in cycling comfort you have to be willing to think outside the box.

Hey all! I am participating in the Wisco IM, but only as a volunteer! I wish you all smooth and safe training along the way! Go get em! I'm a local, and I live on the lake in which the swim takes place. If I can be of service in anyway please give a hollar!

I saw them on All3Sports yesterday. I'd like to try one as well, but there isn't a shop that's close to me that carries them yet.

hey guys. new to the ironman triathlon myself but will soon enter the collegiate championship version of the Wisconsin Ironman. Just wanted to wish everyone whose participating good luck.

Also was wondering about the course- Is the course hilly? I was looking at the map on the website and it looks like they'll be quite a lot of hills. Don't know how Madison is but Chicago and the rest of the midwest is relatively flat.

Welcome...

Read my bike course report at...
http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp...

The course is not long hills like Placid or Kona. But the challenge of the course comes in that it is constant rolling hills. There is very little area for recovery on the loop. And the areas that appear "flat" are often "false flats".

Enjoy...Hopefully Madame Pele stays away from Madison this year! But I'll be ready if she shows up...

Hey Mike....I want to ride that with you.  I'll be able to ride the course at the end of April after a quick recovery after IMAZ.

Shoot me an e-mail and we can coordinate a day.  A couple loops would be perfect.

There are 157 days until IMWI, so that works out to around 22.5 weeks.  What are your KEY races leading up to IMWI?

Mine are:

April-Boston Marthon

June-Honu 70.3

July-Vineman 70.3

I'll be sprinkling in a few Century Rides, and Olympic distance Tri's as well...  What are you other guys/gals doing?

June 4- Mooseman HIM
June 18- West Kennebunk Fire Oly
July 16- Musselman HIM
Aug 20- Timberman HIM

If it fits in my life and training, I might also do the Chicago Distance Classic half mary Aug 13. If I do that, I'll try bringing a bike, rent a car, and make a day trip to Madison to ride part(72 miles- from town plus a loop???) on Saturday. The only race I'm tapering for besides IM Moo is the FL 70.3.
