Comments: Stiff from bike. Stroke was awkward and fatiguing. Another swimmer intentionally pulled on my leg I guess to pull himself ahead. I lost at least 30 seconds from that. What would you do differently?: relax more and focus on rolling more instead of pulling so hard Transition 1
Comments: T1 was running shoes off into bike shoes. Transition time added to bike so I don't know for sure how long I took. Felt smooth and quick. What would you do differently?: nothing Bike
Comments: Started bike with sky high HR. Took about 5 minutes to recover and get in rhythm. claf cramped in middle of ride. Lost focus for a few minutes. resolved cramps and continues racing What would you do differently?: start out slightly easier. may need to adjust cleat position. Transition 2
Comments: I was wobbly and I undid the bottom 2 straps on shoe but not the top one. I pulled on shoe several time before I realized why it wouldn't come off. What would you do differently?: Vizualize transiton while moving to rack. Run
Comments: I was puffing the whole time. I left watch w/bike so no HR data. What would you do differently?: Not sure. Running w/o the HR monitor didn't seem to hurt my time Post race
Warm down: ate a banana What limited your ability to perform faster: calf cramps on bike, stiff in pool Event comments: The only saving grace of this race is it is small enough to get away with minimal staff and there was chip timing. Arrive early. Oil chain. test ride bike. pick-up packet. Setup transition area. Stay warm in car. sip gatorade.
30 minutes before start 15 minute run at 145HR. dynamic stretching. seed self into strating postion 5 minutes before start. fidgit to keep HR up.
