Total Time = 1h 00m 30s
Overall Rank = 95/338

Age Group Rank = 11/35
Pre-race routine:

Got up around 5:30 and ate a bagel and peanut butter. Checked all my gear!!
Event warmup:

Ran for about 7-8 minutes about an hour before I went off and swam a couple of laps about half an hour beforehand.
Swim
  • 05m 22s
  • 300 yards
  • 01m 47s / 100 yards
What would you do differently?:

Not wear a tri top with a pocket that catches water.
Transition 1
  • 01m 59s
Comments:

I needed this b/c I made some mistakes that I usually do not make. They were not big but every second counts.
What would you do differently?:

Practice a little more.
Bike
  • 30m 41s
  • 12.43 miles
  • 24.31 mile/hr
Comments:

I do not know if I went tooo hard on the bike or not but I paid for doing something wrong when I got to the run!!!
What would you do differently?:

I would not do too much different. I was pretty strong but could be stronger. I think if anything I would have put more LT training in before the race!!!
Transition 2
  • 00m 50s
Comments:

Almost ran out of transition with my helmet and glasses. Thank godness I wear a running hat. I went to put my running hat on and hit my helmet. I was like.....I might want to leave that here!!!
What would you do differently?:

Remember to take my helmet off but realistically it might have cost me 3 seconds and the very most!!!
Run
  • 21m 40s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 06m 58s  min/mile
Comments:

Well, I got sick on the run coming back in from the turn around. I was probably a little over a quarter of a mile from the end and lost it. I do not know why. Maybe I went too hard on the bike but I was pissed b/c I was going to negative split. I was just about to push it a little harder. It was quick too. I was running along and all of a sudden I was like....oh uh!!! and then three strides later I am puking. I got it back together and took off feeling good again and trying to make up the time I lost but then about 100 yards from the finish line my body was about to attack me again so I just slowed it way down and ran in!! Get this too...they had this big @ss blown up thing at the end with timing mats all under it so I run across and stop!!! People start yelling at me....run to the finish!! The stupid finish line is another 8-10 yards away. I do not get why they did this. I was pissed b/c another 4-5 seconds just got lost!!! I could have easily went under an hour had I not had these problems!!!!
What would you do differently?:

Not get sick so I could run faster!!!
Post race
Warm down:

Starbucks!!!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not quite peaking on the run. I need more LT work and a few more bricks but just about where I thought I was.

Event comments:

Very good race for beginners or a good race to kick start the season!!!

Nice work...not a bad run time, considering. Are you going to be at one of the White Lake events?
