Comments: I was shooting for a sub 20 but wasn't really sure if I could do it considering my diet the previous 2 days consisted of large portions of fatty foods, I never slept more than 5 hours a night since we got into Vegas and spent 2.5 days walking the strip like crazy. Started off good but felt the legs starting the fade after the first mile. The second mile was my slowest but managed to pick it up some again on the third. Wish I had a little more motivation in that second mile. At least two seconds worth! What would you do differently?: Not try to PR in Vegas? Post race
Warm down: Waited for my wife to finish and then we walked down Fremont Street to buy some cheap Vegas gifts. What limited your ability to perform faster: Vegas baby! Event comments: This was a horribly organized race. Packet pickup on race morning was poorly marked and in a location that created a huge crowd. The race started late after a twice botched rendition of the national anthem. And to top it all off the advertised free parking was not free. Luckily I had brought a credit card with me. Woke up still on east coast time so I just stayed in bed for a couple of hours. Drove from the strip to downtown then went to pickup our packets.
Did a short run at an easy pace and waited for the start.
