Sunny
Total Time = 1h 05m 21s
Overall Rank = 24/429
Age Group = 40-44
Age Group Rank = 1/44
Pre-race routine:

Spent the night in Garner ... 15 mins away. Slept good. Arrived in plenty time to prepare.
Event warmup:

Really cold morning ... ran and stretched
Swim
  • 05m 3s
  • 274 meters
  • 01m 50s / 100 meters
Comments:

My actual time in the water was 4:28 but there was a long run to the trans area. I could have passed someone but it would have not made any difference because of the long run to T1.
What would you do differently?:

Swim a little harder earlier.
Transition 1
  • 01m 5s
Comments:

I was 23rd fastest in the T1 so I was happy with that
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, just be faster
Bike
  • 35m 21s
  • 12.43 miles
  • 21.10 mile/hr
Comments:

For the first time I actually felt like I knew what I was doing and what I was trying to accomplish. I pressed when I needed to and recovered when I could.
What would you do differently?:

I was pleased with what I did.
Transition 2
  • 01m 8s
Comments:

Lost time here. I came in way too fast and forgot to remove my feet from the shoes. I did not dismount while moving so that cost me time. Also I bumbled around trying to get the bike mounted.
What would you do differently?:

I have to think before entering the T2. I was hammering to the end on the bike(fun) that I lost concentration on where I was.
Run
  • 22m 46s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 07m 19s  min/mile
Comments:

I am still tentative on the run because of my feet. My right is not %100 and I don't trust it.
What would you do differently?:

I just have to run more and get stronger. I feel like I have band-aided my foot so until it really gets better I will not be able to run at my potential or at least near the old days.
Post race
Event comments:

Great race ... festival afterwards lots of good stuff ... too bad I didn't have someone to share it with.

What an awesome job, first out of 44 in a very tough division. You are consistently strong in all 3 disciplines, way to go!
