Pre-race routine:

We had some challenges getting into Nashville. Sorry I missed the dinner Friday night. We arrived at the Maxwell House Hotel-very nice people but a little touch of disorganization. We got our rooms and immediately went to the expo before it close!! Whew!! Just made it. Did some quick shopping then it was off for dinner and bed.
Event warmup:

Took the hotel shuttle to the race site and had a massage. How nice is THAT!! Hit the port-o-lets a few times before the start. My two friends from Orlando did the full so they headed off to their corral up front. I was in corral 21 so it was 25 minutes before we made it to the start line and then...we were off on what I told everyone was "another workout"!!

Comments:

I would have loved to be faster but I have really been working on just being about to go the 13.1 miles. I am currently finishing a training cycle that will help me complete the San Diego Marathon so this race was a great warm up!! It was really really fun..and thats what its about!!!
What would you do differently?:

Be fitter, lighter and have more speed
Post race
Warm down:

Got to the finish line and my friend from Orlando who ran the 1/2 was waiting for me. We enjoyed the goodies and made a picnic in the grass as we waited for our two friend to complete the Marathon. Saw some Orlando Team In Training friends so we hung out with them. We ran one of our friends in from mile 25 as she was really struggling with the hills!!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Weight...recovering from surgery and complications from that surgery.

Course: For a Floridian, this course was a bit hilly and the wind made it a challenge but I LOVED the bands, the little children, the great support from local people and such. As I ran/walked, I realized that this race date marked 4 months since I had had a heart attack and laid in a hospital bed. I know my times were slow, but I couldn't be more pleased with the face that I completed this race.

Awesome job! You have a lot to be proud of, considering four months ago. Wow! It's cool that there were other BTers there among the rest of the 24,000-plus crazy people
