Subject: Everglades National Park route?

Hey has anyone done this route? A friend  told me that it would be a good ride but she doesn't really cycle.

http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/training/map.asp?routeid=170188

Does anyone have any experience there? Is there much traffic? I was thinking of parking my car and biking in. Any info is much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hey chris-alfonso...

I used to live at the Everglades NP long time ago...and...I did that route in many occasions...It's around 32 or 34 miles from the Entrance to Flamingo...one way...62 / 64 miles round trip....

It's a very nice ride...beautiful scenic...not too much traffic....but...the roads are rough....the kind that can eat your tires...there are some roadies groups that organize rides over there but once in a while...I think for the same reason that explained...LOL

It's a good ride that I would do it once but I wouldn't do it frecuently....!!!

Good Lucks...!!!

Thanks! It sounds like a great ride minus the roads.

I might go check it out sometime at the end of next week. Would I have to worry about wildlife running across the road?

That sounds like an amazing ride! But I won't be able to join since I'm driving back up to Atlanta on that day. Maybe I could make it next time I'm down here in Miami

I'm planing on doing the route this Friday. Since it looks like its going to be a beautiful day before the rain comes in on Saturday....I NEED to enjoy the sun and warmth before I head back up to the cold.

Good luck this weekend!

Hey, and yea i did  the ride. it was great minus the one flat I got that happened to be near an alligator. Kinda of freak out for a second. haha

I'm back in school in atlanta now but I should be coming back to miami for the summer so I'll be sure to go on a few rides then.
