Pre-race routine:

Rode bikes from home down to race start at the World Trade Center in downtown PDX. 6miles.
Event warmup:

Good stretching this time. Long, deep stretches of hamstrings, quads, calves, shoulders...
Had one cup of Heed.

Felt a little out of breath the entire time. Quickly fell behind Jennifer after about 1.25 miles. Just kept her in sight as my pace setter. Pipped her at the line. she probably built up a 20-25 second lead after 2.25 miles. It was all I could do to reel her in. She ended up getting 9th overall for Masters Womens division!
What would you do differently?:

Run more in-between races.
Post race
Warm down:

More stretching and a couple cups of Heed plus half a banana.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Utter lack of training.

Event comments:

Fun race. will most likely return next year.
