The wind and rain was quite strong when I woke up. I was considering not going to this event but the conditions dampened down. Lots of little kids and supportive parents out there today which was awesome to see. At the start I was maybe 2 metres from the front with lots of little people ahead, thought I'd have trouble getting passed them but they flew off the blocks leaving me for dead! The headwind was quite bad, I was looking for bigger people to run behind to block the wind but all I could see was people half my size! As for my performance, it was a very hard run and faded a little towards the end but was able to get a PB! I actually finished about 24:24, forgot to press stop at the end, pace around 4:04 min/km :)
