Run
Comments: Good run, only passed by a few faster runners and pasted a lot of slower runners from the 1st wave. What would you do differently?: Start at the back of the 1st wave because passing on a single track is challenging. Transition 1
Comments: Fast transition bike shoes...mount line was clear and passed many on the transition hill. What would you do differently?: Take in more water during transition. Bike
What would you do differently?: Finished a bit harder. Transition 2
Comments: All was good except for the cramp in my left calf that happened while putting on my shoe. What would you do differently?: Figure out a better anti-cramp hydration/nutrition plan. Run
Comments: Need to do more Brinks as my legs took a while to get moving out of T2. Post race
Warm down: Felt great and family was at the finish. Took in some recovery drink as food at the end of events is never appealing. What limited your ability to perform faster: Calf cramp in T2... Event comments: No timing or numbers but can't expect much as a free event for charity. TBF did a nice job of organizing it and there were plenty of volunteers helping and cheering. Slept well and got up at 6:15. Powered down a banana, power bar bites, and started my gatorlyte intake. Thermometer on the car indicated ICE so it's was a chilly warm up.
Checked in and found a great transition location on an isle pointed toward the bike start and close to the 2nd run start. Continued to drink, stay warm, and waited in line for the hopper.
First wave was for the sub-8 min crowd so I started in the front of the second wave for the 9 min plus group.
