Run
Comments: I viewed this as my long training run, so I planned to keep the effort level very easy. I took about 2 miles to get warmed up, then ran through mile 6 just at cruising speed. It felt very easy and good. Had a gel right before the 2nd water stop only to discover that the water was gone and had to wash it down with gatorade. Blech. I decided to forgo the 3:1 run/walk ratio that I had been doing in training. I just didn't want to slow down any more. During the faster last 5k of the race, I did notice my knee twinging a bit more. Still, I felt good and finished feeling strong! What would you do differently?: Maybe I should have kept my 3:1 run/walk ratio for the second half of the race. Post race
Warm down: Walked around and got some water. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing except maybe my knee and trying to keep from irritating it. Event comments: This is a fun event, and I love running on Sullivan's Island. I will definitely do it again. Last updated: 2012-01-29 12:00 AM

Ate breakfast of peanut butter bagel and coffee. Drove out to Sullivan's Island and hit the porta-potty before the start.
None.
