Not sure if it is because there was less allotted for the disc than the other wheels or the disc was that popular.  Never seen the wheels allotment per group by type.

I would imagine a $500 disc would be a pretty darn popular item.

No disc here and in group 2 lots of orders # higher than mins ahead of me! I'm really bummed kinda want to be a little pissed as I was sitting refreshing my computer waiting for sale to start, just like everyone else and FLOs servers not holding up mean I don't get my wheels as soon as I would like. Really wanted to give these a shot but might have to start looking at other options again. Race season will be almost over by the time these wheels come in.

For those that didn't make it into group one and are wondering why, it probably depends what you ordered. From what the site said on that day the 60's were still in fgroup one when the 90's and disc were in groups 3-4. The 60's did eventually hit group 2.

I'm guessing that anyone ahead of you on shipping groups, but has a higher number probably ordered a set of 60's and you probably got a disc, or sometype of 90/disc combo. I'm guessing they based there orginal order breakdown/ratio according to what everyone said they would order in the survey's awhile back, and they said they are not changing the breakdown for the first order.

I'm sure the guys from Flo will be on sometime to answer questions though as they have been nothing but fantastic.

why get pissed at Flo if people doing the same thing got in.  I do understand that it sucks if your race season is almost over and you have to look elsewhere. In that sense, it was worth a shot that didn't work out. I got in order group 2 and it was actually MY fault...user error, but my tri race season doesn't start until mid June, so i am fine.

WELL wanting to be a little pissed is a pretty normal reaction when someone doesn't get what they are expecting especially in instances like this where it could have been avoided. I didn't say I now hated FLO nor did I say I was even sure what I was going to do.  but thanks for that! I was just voicing a little well placed frustatration.

I think upgrading to ceramic bearings may also have had an impact on your place in line, regardless of order number. I'm sure Jon or Chris will clarify this too

I just took a look at the shipping groups again -- < 150 order numbers in shipping group 1. I imagine there were plenty of folks like me ordering just one wheel, lots of people ordering 2 wheels, and maybe a few ordering 3 wheels or 2 wheels + a disc, but WTF -- there must have been people ordering 4 or more wheels! In hind sight, perhaps a limit on the number of wheels that could be ordered during pre-launch might not have been a bad idea....

I'm amazed that the extra steps needed to order more than 1 wheel could have been taken fast enough to make it into group 1...I wish I had been sneaky enough to ask a friend to order my 2nd wheel simultaneously!

The first officially processed order (129 (mine)) was for 2 wheels. It took me a while to get through also. I think, because the servers were down, it was really just a matter of luck, not so much a matter of how many wheels were ordered.

+1 - What you said made me think it is sounding a lot like races. We were all treading water before the 10am start, in one humongous AG. We each prepared the best we could, we might even have done run throughs because on some level we knew it was a competition, and when the horn sounded, we all tried our best to adapt to the ever-changing conditions (heck, I had my cc # copied & ready to paste - only to have the Next > screen crap out & I then needed to decide on the fly to switch over to Paypal) Some prevail, some don't. I guess the podium was the 1st shipment. Still trying to figure out what the line-up to the porta-potties is...

According to their Facebook page, if you were to order a Front FLO 90 right now it would probably get added to the first shipping group.  So it all comes down to how many of each particular wheel they can produce at once.  They had lots of 60s and Discs ordered but can only get so many in the first order.

I'm just telling you you what they posted on Facebook.

"Our survey helped a lot but it did not paint a completely accurate picture. There are later orders in the first shipping group because someone ordered a wheel that was not very popular. For example, if someone ordered a front FLO 90 today I would tell them that it was available to ship in the first group. The front FLO 60 and the FLO DISC were very popular and if you ordered one of those instead you were most likely bumped to later group. Each wheel has a mold and that mold has a capacity."

Anyone who ordered a 60 think itd be worth a month to switch to the 90 front? What was the aero difference? Weight? Plus a 90 front would look BA

Great analogy! Some of us may have also had better luck with our rack positions in the transition area.

I emailed and asked.  Got a response in a couple of hours.  I'm now in group 1 waiting on a front 90.

Aero difference was almost zero.  Biggest difference between the two is likely handleability in winds - the 90 will catch more air and be twitchier.  The weight difference isn't a big deal, IMO.
