Breezy's only a few weeks away. Who's coming to the race? Hopefully the water will warm up a bit more before the race; I think it's 62 degrees right now. :)

I just rode the course. it is going to be interesting if things stay the way they are.

1. Mason Creek Bridge coming out of T-1 closed
2. Dillingham Rd, closed/blocked at Maryland very rough surface
3. There is a turn in the road near the fire station that is down to one lane each direction, lots of sand/debris. I went through at race pace with cars chasing, was real tight should be interesting with different levels of cyclist out there

Well, I have been swimming in bay for last three weeks.  It s not that bad at all.  I think that the water is warmer the 62 I would say 68-70.  Any way I am getting excited as this is my first tri this season.  I am even more excited for the week after Breezy, i am doing the Eagleman.

I agree that the water feels better than the official62/63 degrees that is being reported. I was in the water Sun and it felt great with the wetsuit. Does anyone have any BT tattoos? I haven't gotten around to ordering any. Breezy has a great post race party; we need a BT sign so we can congregate after the race.

I'm am coming to the race. I am really looking forward to it. I would second the comments about the bike course being in really bad shape. In the area where it necks down to one lane each way there is a huge metal plate that sticks out about 3 feet into lane. I had to swerve to avoid it. Thankfully no cars. I rode at 6:15 sunday morning.

I've never done this race. Does any one know how they do the wave starts? Or any info on how they are going to do the wave starts this year?

I did the race last year. The first wave was the open men and women, the 2nd wave was 40+ women, not sure who else. I think they had a total of nine waves; clydes, athenas and teams went last. I don't think they use the same wave order each year. I think we probably won't know until we pick up our packets. See you Sunday.

Hey folks,

What's the latest on the water temp? I don't have a wetsuit, and I've heard that the water temps are cold. Who's wearing a wetsuit? I don't need it for the swim, but I'm wondering about the warmth....I swam in a lake up here, north of Columbus OH, the second week of June last year, and the water was fine. But the ocean? Any thoughts appreciated. Anyone been out there without a wetsuit?

Good Luck, BTer's!

A day or two ago the local news said that the bay temp was 68 degrees. I'll be wearing a wetsuit, but there were people not wearing suits last year and I think the water was colder. There were pleanty of people in the water this weekend at the beach so you should be OK.

I swam yesterday without a wetsuit in the Bay. Not bad once you get all the way in and a little warmed up. However, I will be wearing a wetsuit to race but I feel it isn't a must have.

I just found out that approx. 4 hours after the Breezy point tri, I'm getting on a plane to go to the Persian Gulf. I wonder what kind of pain I will feel getting on the ground after a hard tri and a 19 hour plane trip? Do you think Navy will spring to send me over Business class? I doubt it! Got to get packing!

Just a couple days now!!!

No Jelly fish where the swim is. Out in Ches Bay might be a different story.

Same problems on the course as last week, although not quite as much dirt in the turn by the firestation. I will update course conditions Saturday afternoon.

As the course sits now there i going be some tight and technical parts in the beginning. I am hoping that they make some changes to the course make it a little safer.

I swam in the Bay on Monday.  A different section the the race venue, but it was filled with Jelly fish.  My wife got a sting on her neck another swimmer had one go right in her face.

I saw them when I entered the water but did not see any while I swam.  Wearing a wetsuit will aid in the defense against Jelly fish.

Also , I know folks who have done this swim before.  They have never mentioned issues with jelly fish.

OK; I made a sign; no snide comments on my lack of artistic abilities I'll put it by the table I'm at during the post race party. Also, if people have a chance to post their race #'s I'l try to compile a list and try to find people in the TA or at the finish. I'll be wearing my BT tri top or my BT t-shirt. Race day looks like decent weather. I did an OWS last night and the water was great, pretty close to 70 degrees. See you all Sunday!
