Age Group Rank = 11/35
Pre-race routine:

Bowl of cereal, yogurt & bottle of water
Event warmup:

1/2 mile run...too cold to get in the water & besides, this is only 400 yds.
  • 08m 39s
  • 440 yards
  • 01m 58s / 100 yards

The wave was all men 35-49...I started wide, things got clogged at the 1st bouy as guys sprinted then fizzled.
What would you do differently?:

Start out in front & avoid the masses
Transition 1
  • 01m 33s
  • 30m 9s
  • 11.5 miles
  • 22.89 mile/hr

A good ride, I was concerned since I had not been on the bike for 2 weeks other than a 30 mile training ride the previous Wed.
Transition 2
  • 00m 59s

I used the Yanks laces for the 1st time...I like them!
  • 27m 43s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 08m 56s  min/mile

Felt really good. I ran 8 miles on Friday & expected to be tired but the legs felt great.
What would you do differently?:

I should have pushed faster, the legs were ready.

Event comments:

PR for this race.
This is the 1st tri I ever did 2 years ago & my time for that race was 1:52...things have come a long way!
This was a training exercise for next week's Disney 70.3, conditions were perfect & several friends posted pr's.

That's what I'm talkin' about! Great job, P! You need to teach me how to ride like that.

Great race, Peter! You are really hauling; you already had the bike speed and your run's improved dramatically this year. Great training session for next weekend's race!
