Just wondering which races (and how many) you all have on your schedules this year.

I'm planning to do the flat out 5k, the Iron Girl Tri, a warrior dash in NE, maybe the dirty girl, and then I want to find another sprint tri and a 10k to do,  but I'm a newb so I know my schedule is liiiiiiight!

What are your plans?

I'm a beginner as well but for this year I have:

BareBones Duathlon, Penticton, May 12th (1st event of the season in my area)

Wine Capital of Canada Olympic, Oliver BC; June 17th

Penticton GranFondo (160K bike ride); July 8th (expecting 3000 riders)

5 days of Volunteering for Ironman Canada; up to August 26th (not an event but a lot of fun)

Kelowna Xterra; September 9th

I'm also looking for a couple 5 or 10K runs.

I just received the racing underground magazine in the mail yesterday.  Their new events have got me intrigued.  I may be signing up for the evergreen tri, and road tripping with some friends to their fruita race in the fall.  Camping right next to transition with my buddies then doing some mountain biking sounds like a super way to spend the last tri weekend of the year.

The Slacker 1/2 marathon also sounded cool, and i think i'll check out the Morgul Bismark bike race as a spectator.  American flyers was one of my favorite biking movies, and i've never seen a race on that course.  I have got to see the pros come up the wall.

This year I'm just focusing on the bike.  Bike races pretty much every weekend April thru August, plus the Double Triple Bypass in July.

This was supposed to be a nice, relaxed, open season.... and now it seems like I'm racing at least once a month.  Turns out I can't resist a Schwaggle deal.  I paid $36 or an olympic-distance race.  That's pretty hard to pass up.

My race list:

Colfax Half Marathon

Boise 70.3

SheRox Tri

Survivor Mud Run

Rocky Mountain Tri (Oly)

Rattlesnake Crazy Back-to-Back (Oly and Sprint)

Denver RnR Marathon

The plan, as it stands:

The HRCA spring run series
Platte River HM
Boulder Sunrise Century
Boulder 70.3
Horsetooth OWS (2.4 mile)
Denver Marathon

There may also be room in there for one or two Sprint or Olympic tri's, and a fall trail run.

Triple Bypass

Boulder 70.3

Deer Creek Challenge century

Probably Pueblo HM again.

Have not signed up for any run races yet... still trying to work back up from my injury. Still not 100%, but hopefully I can keep moving forward. Very excited about my races this year!

I don't have it all planned out yet since I am in the process of quitting my job to go back to grad school (!!!) and will be living like a starving student once again.

So far I'm planning...

Xterra Vegas - R

Mount Carbon Trail 1/2 marathon - R

Mountain bike races at the Iron Horse festival in Durango

Dirty Thirty 50k trail run - R

Xterra Wild Horse

A mountain biking/backpacking trip in Oregon with the bf

A mountain biking/backpacking trip in Thailand and Cambodia with the bf

I'm also going to pace and crew for yeats at Leadville, and support/feed his wife, jazz82482, and their pooch at Boulder 70.3 (hopefully)

I may throw in a road tri here and there, but not sure yet.

Cherry Creek Sneak 10 miler 4/29

Colfax Half 5/20

I may do the Copper to Frisco 1/2 marathon and maybe the Harvest Moon HIM.

Just signed up for the Barking Dog Du.  It will be my first multisport race since moving to Colorado.  Anyone else going?  I did the Running of the Green last month, and it was an absolute blast.   I love living here.  I'm planning to ride the course this weekend if the weather holds, except for the part on the dam road.  I'll wait until they close it for the race to test out that stretch of road.  Any tips to make my first dulathon a success?

Glad to be back Dan! Let's go for a ride sometime!

Exige, what size mountain bike would you ride? I "might" be able to loan you a bike if I get my 2nd one fixed before the end of the summer. Would love to have another training partner that doesn't mind the mud!
