Swim
Comments: Though second in the age group, I could have swam faster without a doubt. Navigation became challenging during the last 1/4 as I caught up to the previous wave. What would you do differently?: Swim faster due to more technique/practice. Transition 1
What would you do differently?: It was a good quarter-mile run to T1 and I did well to run into T1, though my times do not compare very well with the age group. Need to work on faster transitions. Bike
Comments: I need to reset my Garmin to give me the data I'm looking for when in Multi-Sport mode. I had no idea what my Power or other details were. What would you do differently?: Not knowing my power output really inhibited my capability as I was afraid I wasn't going hard enough and/or going too hard. Two minutes out of first place rank in age group is too much for this distance...keep working on the bike! Transition 2
Comments: Didn't care for the particularly rough transition surface. What would you do differently?: Had a slight delay to get the shoes on quickly. Again, my transitions were pretty slow all things considered. Run
Comments: Shin splints...Noooooo! I was actually surprised my pace was as fast as it was, considering the shin splints. I will say it ranks as one of my faster 5k's. What would you do differently?: Need to talk to chiropractor and possible running coaches about the shin splints...need to resolve ASAP. Post race
Warm down: Massage and coconut water. What limited your ability to perform faster: More time in the gym and shin splints. Event comments: This was their first race and though they started about 10 minutes late the staff was friendly and a lot of volunteers throughout. Last updated: 2012-03-13 12:00 AM

Wake up, protein shake, get to the race. Glad I alsways plan to get there earlier than I need to set-up because there's always something. Today was extremely long porta-john lines due to so few, but not before the nice long line to get the timing chip.
200 meter swim and active release stretching.
