How did everyone do? What an amazing day and the weather was great - although a bit windy the last lap of the HIM! So nice to be out on the Beeline!

5:54:54 for me - PR from SOMA - woot woot!

the water was perfect - although I was a bit cold by the time I was done...took a while to get warmed up on the bike. I had a sleeveless wetsuit and 65 degree water was completely tolerable!
Due to putting on extra gear before getting on the bike, I had the slowest T1 EVER...think I took a nap somewhere during that time :-)!

Overall, a great race! RedRock does a fantastic job! Hope everyone had fun and enjoyed the day! Can't wait to hear how it went! Congrats to all the newbies - WTG!!!!

I just got back home after a 2.5hr drive.  I did the Olympic.  Since it's my second race only, I guess my time is my PR.  Biking and running went well, just the swim was tough for me.

Congrats to everyone out there and to RedRock!  The weather was PERFECT!  This was a fun event.

6:37 for my first HIM. I was hoping for 7 so I am happy. My swim was good, bike was tolerable (the wind on the second lap sucked), and my run....well....2:24 was not what I was expecting, but, oh well. It happened.

A very fun race today.  More to come in my RR, but the water was nice (I too was sleeveless and never felt cold in the water), the wind was a bit bothersome (had to work some during the entire ride - no downhill relaxing), and the heat picked up a bit on the run.  But it was a beautiful day, and those previous weather comments were not a hindrance.

5:26:13 was my final official time, and I set a new PR for the swim (39:10), bike (2:52) and run (1:49).  So....needless to say, I topped my IM Oceanside PR from a couple weeks ago (5:45) by almost 20 minutes, and felt (and feel) great afterward.

I sincerely hope everyone had as much fun out there as I did (whether or not you made a PR).

What a great race considering I didn't really train hard for this HIM!  I went in with some doubts as I blew up on the run at the Las Palomas tri last month.  Luckily everything went as planned and I finished strong.  Final time was 4:44:05, 12 mins faster than I went at SOMA last year.   My swim was less than spectacular but the bike and run came together nicely.  As said above, I don't feel like I ever got a break on the bike portion so I was worried that my bike split was going to be horrible.  I took it easy regardless so I could put in a strong run.  It worked and my run went without a hitch.  Glad I got that monkey off my back from the previous tri.

I did IMAZ last year and apparently still have my base.   My longest ride since IMAZ was 53 miles and that was just two weeks ago.  Otherwise I typically stick to the trainer doing Sufferfest video workouts.  Running is hit or miss.  Some weeks I'll run  an average of 30+ miles, other weeks it's 15 miles. I need to get motivated so I'm setting a goal to move up to top 10 overall for a race this size.  Not sure if that's achievable by the time SOMA rolls around but I'll try.

Wow! What an amazing experience ! Finished!!!! 6:46:49.61!!! I paced myself very well and all the nutrition I had I used. I have a book on Sports nutrition for endurance athletes and it fixed a lot of the problems for the 4th dicipline for endurance events.

The swim was so much fun that I didn't want to get out of the water. It went very well. I started with the newbie group behind me because I hate getting crawled on (yellow cap swimmer). But, loved every minute of it! The bike was GREAT too until the wind hit coming back on my last loop. I LOVE MY AREOBARS!!! The best investment ever! I rode most of the time in them and it cut through the wind right around me. The only thing that hurt was my bike seat. I was so numb and the pressure was killing me! Like when your goggles are to tight for a long swim. New bike seat on the next menu for me please. The run was good too. I had to stop to pee at the first port-pottie. RedRock company Rocks!!! Nice event and beautiful course around Tempe Lake!
