Jackson Triathlon Association
82F / 28C
Total Time = 50m 32s
Overall Rank = 33/254
Age Group = Clydesdale
Age Group Rank = 4/13
Pre-race routine:

Woke up got my stuff together.. packed it in the car.. mixed some gatorade... ate a power bar and headed off to the race site
Event warmup:

Rode my bike from the parking lot 1.1 miles to the T area and ran for maybe 7 minutes
  • 02m 50s
  • 200 yards
  • 01m 25s / 100 yards

I'm guessing on the ranks.. I know I was faster than the rest of the clydesdales but there were lots of folks who didn't get split so I'm not totally sure. I haven't been in the pool since late february so I'm pretty pleased with my swim. I did start to peter out towards the end though.
What would you do differently?:

Train... :)
Transition 1
  • 01m

No big deal here.. again.. Time is an estimate. Last year I tried to put a shirt on in T1. Time then was 3:14. Longer than my swim time :) I went shirtless today and dropped at least 2 min of T1. which is where my time decrease for this race was.
What would you do differently?:

  • 27m 16s
  • 8 miles
  • 17.60 mile/hr

Again.. Not sure about the ranking because not everyone had splits..
What would you do differently?:

train more.
Transition 2
  • 00m 30s

Flawless really.. :)
What would you do differently?:

  • 18m 43s
  • 2 miles
  • 09m 22s  min/mile

AG Rank is correct on this one..
I think I did ok considering my lack of training in the past months. The run was so short though I just got to feeling comfortable about 1/4 mile to the finish..
What would you do differently?:

push a little harder.
loose some freaking weight.
Post race
Warm down:

At a banana, chicken biscuit and donut.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

my fat arse.. :)

Event comments:

This is a fantastic race for beginners. The folks who ran it did a great job and are encouraging and really building the sport in our area.

Great race Will! I don't know what happened that caused so many chips to fail to register. I know it's an annoyance. Great seeing you and catching up w/you. See ya on a weekly ride!
