Subject: Tahoe Rim Trail 100
Anyone done the TRT 100?  What was your opinion?  Did you like the course?  What was the difficulty level vs other 100's you've done if any.  I am thinking about doing this one as my first 100.

Haven't done the race, but this is what I know about it.  The 100 is a 2 loop course that hovers near 8000' feet above sea level, so altitude is a factor.  Reported 20k+ feet of elevation gain in climbing. Snow fields, water crossings, sometimes tricky footing.  Kilian Jornet broke the TRT 165 mile FKT record a couple years ago and that guy is a mountain running specialist, two time UTMB winner who doesn't do any runs that aren't really ridiculously hard.  But it has gorgeous scenery.  Unreal beauty.  Views of the lake, the mountains, lots of 180+ degree views.  Very high on my list of races to do.

I ended up going with AC100 for my big 100 of the year.  Tahoe was a close call but just too much money/time out of my pocket for this year.  A guy that is training with me for AC this year did tahoe last year and said it was awesome and was full of challenges.  Here is a good variety of blogs that I have saved for this race that I read before making my final call that might get you some insight...maybe even amped for that race!  d
