Anybody doing the half IM?  Would be fun to do a scope out of both courses/swim with other BTers and/or have tip a few after the races.  I am pretty sure I am going to need it afterwards.

This is easily the best swim in WI, the water is so clear you can see the vegetation 15 feet down.  Which means that you can see the swimmers feet infront of you.  Last year I just followed some guy the whole way, I only sighted 4 times or so.  It was great.

Not to mention that the HI swim last year was very short (I was out in 19min).

The LG triathlon is in an awesome venue, beautiful lake and a challenging bike ride and run course (i.e. Franks Killer Hill and the hill on the backside of the observatory). CindyK and I have participated in this event (and other Frank Dobb events) for the last couple of years and have both experienced "issues" with the race check-in, course markings and distances and on-course support/aid stations at the LG HIM (all previously discussed extensively in prior threads). It has the potential to be one of the best courses in the midwest if it is run correctly. My recommendation if you choose to do this event is thoroughly enjoy the venue and the scenery and hope for the best as far as the race logistics are concerned.

I am wondering if any of the Lake Geneva triathlon veterans have any last-minute advice for the event. This will be my first Oly. I've been on location to scope out the terrain (I even ran up the Killer Hill to gage what I was up against), but I'm wondering if there is anything I should look out for or add to my transition bag/list that is particularly helpful in tackling the Lake Geneva tri.

I've also been told that the swim can take longer than a mile because the course markings are unclear. Is this the case?

Thanks in advance and best of luck to all of you.
