Swim
Comments: Shaved 7 mins of last Olympic swim (Sept 2011). More pool time and improved technique paid off. Still a long way to go here - need to increase pool volume more over the season. Another 3-4 mins off the time is not impossible by the end of this season. Transition 1
Bike
Comments: Pacing felt good. GU Roctane drink 240 Cals in one bottle - just the right amount of nutrition for a race this distance. What would you do differently?: This is a learning experience - shaved off 1min from my last olympic - can probably take another 1-2 mins off without impacting the run too much. Transition 2
Run
Comments: Fairly evenly paced - 20 mins flat for the first lap, so lost a little on lap 2. Felt good for most of the run, can probably go 1-3 mins faster in the future, depending on conditions. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: The swim remains the one big weakness - need to continue to build volume in the pool, continue to improve technique and get in some more open water practice. Event comments: Element Events puts on a good race - loved the results station with the touch screens at the finish line! Last updated: 2012-05-21 12:00 AM
