OK, I know this must have been covered before, but I have tried a few searches and must not be guessing the right keywords.

Got a new wetsuit. Swam in it last weekend in a lake. So far, so good.

I do think I can swim faster in the wetsuit, but at this point, not enough faster to make up for how slow I am getting the gol-darned thing off.

I know to start peeling the upper half while clambering out of the water and/or jogging to the transition area. But man, getting the legs and feet out is so dang slow.

Any tips?

Body glide on your calves down to your ankles and practice taking off your wetsuit.  Here is a good video to give you an idea how to get your suit off fast and efficient.

Put body glide on your legs and arms, makes slipping it off easier.

I was worried about this before my first time, I timed myself taking the whole thing off dry in 1:20.  I did my t1 in 2:30, needs some work, but probably only spent 20 seconds getting my suit off.

Yep, plenty of glide and just a bit of practice.  It's a no brainer for me, if it's a wetsuit legal race, I am in mine as I have timed it in the pool and am roughly 12-15% faster, and that's in my sleeveless.  Even faster with the fullsuit!

Put body glide on your legs and arms, makes slipping it off easier.

And to add to this, I put body glide on the outside cuffs of the suit itself about 4 inches up on both the arms and legs because that seems to help the suit from sticking to itself when it is fully rolled over on itself and you are tugging to slip it off over the ankles and wrists.

Also, I put the glide on the top of my feet and ankles.  <15 seconds and the suit is off.

Roll it off inside-out. The toughest part can be the ankles, but at that point, you just stand on the suit with one leg and yank the other foot up and out of the suit. Then repeat with the other leg. This is the one time you can't be gentle with your suit. If it adds more than 15 seconds to T1, practice more.

One other tip I haven't seen mentioned is that when you are finishing up the swim, right before you stand upright grab the neck of the suit right below your chin and let a bunch of water flow in.  This really does make things easier as it helps to separate the "seal" the suit has made against your skin.
