My daughter just competed in the Foothills Feat Tri and is hooked! She's not quite sure if she is up for an OWS though.

Are there other good kids' races around? I'm interested in pool or short open water swims. Hopefully everything will be warm this year so we can avoid a wetsuit.

Thanks,
Ted

Highlands Ranch has a good Kids Tri Series, and Ive heard the IronKids the day before the 70.3 is pretty good with a  short OWS.  Water temps won't be an issue come August, either

Is this in Colorado? I went to the IronKids website and didn't see any CO events. Hy-Vee brings back memories of Des Moines! I even had Kurt Warner bag my groceries there once!

Here's the registration link for IK Boulder, though for some reason the info page from ironmanboulder.com/ironkids doesnt work.

Here's the link for the HRCA Tri race series as well...

If she's still into it next year, the Longmont tri has a kids only version. Distance varies by age and it's a pool swim in the nice warm 82 degree Centennial pool . It was June 2nd (always the Saturday before the Longmont tri). The staff and volunteers are great. It's a nice laid back event.

Good for her!

You should also check out Kids That Tri: http://www.kidsthattri.org/  They offer a great program, but also have a nice calendar of events for the kiddos.

My kidos are signed up for YMCA Strong Kids Tri in Lafayette July 22.  Might be a little basic but fun for the kids to get the experience.  Maybe one of these days I'll be able to get them to train....

5430 used to have a kids race the day before the Long Course tri.  Not sure if they still have it since it became a 70.3.  It was a good one.  The swim was in the res, but for the younger kids, it was in water shallow enough they could stand if they needed.
