Run
Comments: Everyone did great. My first leg (#12) was in the heat, quads held up but had to pullover 2 X's to stretch. 2nd leg (#24) was a disaster. I suffered a reoccuring quad issue on my 2nd leg (#24 - night run). The route had plenty of downhill, which reaked havoc on my already sore and tender quads. I had to stop numerous times even though my leg was only 6.6 miles. I had to constantly stretch out and massage the pain away...walked the last mile...pain was bareable running uphill! 3rd leg (#36) my quads held up...very flat 6.6 miles, took it easy, found a running partner and we talked each other through the finish. What would you do differently?: Make sure to nurse my ailing quads before the next Ragnar! Post race
Warm down: Partied at the finish line, went out to eat, went home to shower....then slept! What limited your ability to perform faster: Very tender quads. Event comments: This was my first (and not last) Ragnar. There were 3 runners on the team that had competed in a Ragnar event before, so we were able to feed off their experience. We were a bit apprehensive going into the event, but as soon as the wheels were set in motion, everything went smoothly (besides the heat in Corona and the near shut down of my quads). We will definitely do this again! Last updated: 2012-01-14 12:00 AM

2nd van, so we were able to sleep in a couple hours until it was time to meet up with van on at exchange #6.
Krispy Kreme donuts while waiting for our first exchange. I had legs #12, 24 & 36.
