Pre-race routine:

I arrived at the race one hour before my swim start. I talked to a couple of friends and drank some water.
Event warmup:

None
Swim
  • 10m 17s
  • 500 yards
  • 02m 04s / 100 yards
Comments:

For some reason I didn't seem to have much energy on the swim this morning. I was hoping to finish about a minute sooner. The 10:17 includes about a 40 second run from the pool to T1.
What would you do differently?:

Push a little harder in the middle of the swim.
Transition 1
  • 01m 49s
What would you do differently?:

Bike
  • 42m 35s
  • 12 miles
  • 16.91 mile/hr
Transition 2
  • 01m 19s
Comments:

Best Transition in two races.
Run
  • 24m 43s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 07m 57s  min/mile
Comments:

I hit the run leg at about 7:50, by then it was already 75-80 degrees. I ran a good steady pace, I was hoping to run a sub-23 but I was overheating by the turn around. I downed a cup of heed at the turn around but was still hot. I passed about 25 people on the run and wasn't passed by anyone.
What would you do differently?:

Drink more on the bike.
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not feeling good at the start of the swim and the warm weather on the run.

Nice job.  It definitely got hot out there by the end of the race.
