Swim
Comments: Water was cold and felt choppy. For some reason I was very panicky this time around, and couldn't find a good rhythm. Maybe because I wasn't properly warmed up? Because of my foot injury, I'm much less fit this year than last year. Just glad I got through this one! What would you do differently?: Warm up better in the water, if possible. Do some more open water swims this summer to improve my efficiency. Transition 1
Comments: Numb from swim...Couldn't seem to manage buckles, gloves, or anything. Luckily, wasn't too worried about time. Since I couldn't run the transition, I knew it would be long. What would you do differently?: Hopefully my foot will heal before next time, and I'll be able to hustle a little more! Bike
Comments: Kept a steady pace. Need to get my bike fitted better. Feet numb, so hard to tell if left foot ached. What would you do differently?: Still need a bike fitting. Transition 2

Warm down: Walked around, cheered for husband finishing triathlon. What limited your ability to perform faster: Foot injury; panicky/breathless during swim. Last updated: 2012-06-09 12:00 AM

Spent way too much time explaining the course to other competitors when I should have been swimming/getting used to the cold water. Not being able to run due to my injured foot impaired my warmup routine...I usually like to jog a little to get warm before I put my wetsuit on.
