What would you do differently?: This is tough: Since the weather can change drastically going from Palo Alto, I opted to wear a windbreaker and arm warmers. Given yesterday's weather, it would have been best to leave that stuff in the car. Yet, one can never tell what the weather will be like up on Skyline Drive or on the Santa Cruz side of the mountains, so decided I'd rather be too warm, than too cold. As I was climbing the second hill, I was definately cursing my desicion to wear the windbreaker, and the arm warmers had long since found their way into my pockets. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Stretch, change clothes, drink water. Event comments: This was a very well-supported century ride. The food was great, and it was not necessary to carry much more than a couple of my own GUs, just in case. Cliff Bar sponsored this ride so there was plenty of their own brand of gels and energy bars at the stops. Plenty of bathrooms at each stop, and nutritious foods - lunch was awesom. Thankfully, they didn't stock their food tables with pastries, like some other rides I've done. Last updated: 2006-02-26 12:00 AM
