Breezy- I will do my best to lay the smackdown on my hubs!  It has been hilarious around here.  We can't even watch a stage on tv without trash talking!

Peto - I really hope you heal up quickly!   We are still blessed to have you on our team, we are better for it for sure!!

AJ, I had to go 400 just for you. I was originally at 355, but thought I could do 400. I was hedging incase of life... but this is a MF TDF BT Challenge!!! No hedging here!!!

Pulled a calf muscle last night playing softball.  walking was interesting today - didn't like what I was reading about recovery times based on severity.  Praying for something much quicker.

Did you ever see Lance playing soft ball during the tour!!! Oh ya, he sucked at ball sports...

Well that blows. Hopefully it feels better on the bike. At least muscle injuries heal faster than bones and tendons. Perhaps a recovery ride on the trainer will get some blood moving. Go get some Flinstones.

Those are calf heal times for mortals. Team Garmin heals in twice the time!

I will be away most of the last week of the challenge so I wouldn't make a good captain.

Completed my second stage today. I was sprinting in the park when they decided to fill potholes with loose rock. I wound up riding on the grass to try to avoid it but it got everywhere. So much for sprinting. Hopefully the heavy traffic for tomorrow's fireworks in the park will clear much of it away.

I just noticed that my bike went over 6000 total miles last week. She is a good bike and deserves some accolades, especially since everything on her is still original. It is a 2007 Trek Pilot 5.0 WSD. It was my graduation present to myself when I finished the PhD.

What bikes are my teammates riding?

I'll play, this one is not mine put is as close as I could find.  Argon 18 Mercury - I have had it a short time and hope this challenge gets me use to the new riding position because I had to give up my road bike (Giant Defy 2) to get her.

So I rode to work and at quiting time it's not looking good. 24mph head wind and pouring rain. My wife called to see if I wanted a ride and said some crap about sugar and spice and everything nice and melting. With my Manhood in question, my choice was clear.

I donned my yellow jersey Lance gave me after his 7th win and took to the streets. It was brutal. I have had disc brakes for the last 15 years. I forgot all about rain soaked rim brakes. That was an eye opener. My hands grew numb and I knew hypothermia was setting in... but I had to do it for the team...

OK, it was really windy with light rain. I still got wet. I nearly asked my wife to come get me, but the streets were not even wet at that point. I do have a yellow jersey... it was given to me by a friend that meant well... I feel really self conscious wearing it, but it is really visible. Truth is it has been so gosh darn hot lately I welcomed a ride in the rain.... BUT I ALSO WAS NOT GOING TO LET MY TEAM DOWN!

Stage two in the books. 23 mile commute. GO TEAM GARMIN!!!

And don't worry. There was only minor melting of my toes. I will be good as new as soon as I get some ice cream.

Stage 3 Down 34 min. 10+ miles after C25K w/ my daughter

Powerman, thank you for the laugh and nice ride both home and the actual bike.

Peto I know that bike has some miles on it with you as the owner.  How are you looking health wise.

Good Morning Team!  I popped in to say HAPPY RIDING today!

I would love to ride today, but with it being the fourth of July, my kids are keeping me super busy, but tomorrow will be a wake up and get some mileage in!

Spreadsheet HELP:

I put my goals and numbers in, but I have NO idea how to do the equation for the percentage complete column.  Lets me honest, I took philosophy in college instead of math to get my BA in Outdoor Education and Art, so spreadsheet math confuses the heck out of me!

I would ask my husband, but I don't want him to start the trash talking! Tongue out THANKS!
