Self seeding of waves first time I asked for an early start and it was a good plan. Swim includes a 75-100 yard run to T1

Need to bike without sock and try to harden my feet.

This is where taking the early wave did not help, I was directed by an official down the wrong trail. I figure it cost me at minimum 1 minute before I turned around. Possible as much as 2. Still my best performance on this course even with the misdirect.

Small cramp in rt calf at the start, mid foot strikes to work out then let it happen. Best run in a long time.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Misdirection by official. Could have been at minimum 1 minute faster which is enough for first in AG

Event comments:

Great race and a great event for all levels. This is a beautiful area and should be seen by all. This is a great family event and lots of interaction with the crowd.
