I submitted a conservative time so I wouldn't panic and go out to fast plus get an ego boost when I passed people. On lap two, a guy was trying to pass a slower swimmer, but he was doing backstoke! So I swam right between them. I guess my few times doing open water swims gave me confidence to find a hole to swim through.

Went out very aggressively on the bike. I spent most of the time all by my lonesome occasionaly getting passed by some of the guys who were slower swimmers.

I was very disappointed with my run. I believe I was a good two minutes off my potential. This made the difference between 2nd and 3rd overall.
What would you do differently?:

Have a better menta outlook on the run. Try harder. Not wimp out. I came off my bike and started runnung with a defeated attitude.

Gasped and wheezed at the finish line and waited for my hubby and friends to finish.

My mental demons.

A fun race. Didn't perform my best on the run. Definately want to do it again next year.
