Comments:

Tide was WAY out. Bad swimmers were walking the whole course. Pissed me off because I finally had a good swim. Everyone got jumbled up and there was alot of fighting for position
What would you do differently?:

Hope the field gets spread out more with everyone swimming
Transition 1
  • 01m 50s
Comments:

1st time I have been clocked in T1. Everything went great until I could not get the helmet unbuckled!! Had to stop to do that. Felt fast and I did not dry off or put socks on.
What would you do differently?:

Have helmet unbuckled pre race
Bike
  • 30m 54s
  • 10.5 miles
  • 20.39 mile/hr
Comments:

Great bike! I flew through the hills and pushed it on the way back in. I am so excited I averaged over 20mph. My bike coomputer went out for the first part of the race, so I did not know my time until after. I passed 33 people, and 2 passed me
What would you do differently?:

Keep working and try to sub 30 next year
Transition 2
  • 01m 33s
Comments:

Should have gotten out of the clips faster. Almost fell. Got to get a race belt so I don't have to mess with a shirt
What would you do differently?:

Get race belt

Comments:

Tough going up that hill right after you biked. I walked though the water stations so I could drink some. Got passed by clydesdale last 1/2 mile. URGH
What would you do differently?:

Learn how to drink while running
Post race
Warm down:

Gatorade and a nap

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Got to get better on the run

Event comments:

Course setup was a mess. I thought last years was much better

Great race, I thought...and I totally agree about the swim (everyone was walking/running it) and the hill at the beginning of the run. Always a challenge. But great job!

Good job! You ran me down and nipped me by 10 seconds! I agree on the swim. It was like that 2 years ago and I decided that if people started walking past me I would join in the game too. That being said, wish they would have had a legitimate swim. Stopping the bike at the bottom of that hill was really dangerous. When are you racing again?
