Total Time = 1h 01m 18s
Overall Rank = 33/80
Age Group = 25-29
Age Group Rank = 4/9
Pre-race routine:

Arrived around 6:45. Aired up my bike tires, set up transition. Went for a spin. Streched out. Went for a run. Streched out. Headed to the water for a quick swim.
Swim
  • 10m 38s
  • 400 yards
  • 02m 40s / 100 yards
What would you do differently?:

I felt terrible in this swim. I could not relax and settle in. I started swim classes this week and would have not pushed it so much the week before a race.
Transition 1
  • 01m 36s
What would you do differently?:

Bad T1. I put my helmet on before my shirt..and had to reset :( I just took too long to get it done.
Bike
  • 28m 45s
  • 9.2 miles
  • 19.20 mile/hr
Comments:

I felt pretty good on the bike. There was a decent headwind going out, but nothing terrible. Coming back I was hitting 20+ MPH consistantly
Transition 2
  • 00m
What would you do differently?:

Not a bad transition. Had socks and running shoes on and was out fast.
Run
  • 20m 17s
  • 3 miles
  • 06m 46s  min/mile
Comments:

Felt great. The initial climb out of the transition was rough, but once I was out I hit level ground my stride went pretty well. This was actually a 3 mile PR for me overall.
What would you do differently?:

really kicked it at the end and not stopped until I crossed the finish line.
Post race
Warm down:

Not as much as I should have. I streched out my ITband a bit, drank water and ate a few bananas.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Sore shoulders from swim class and a poor T1.

you SMOKED that run!  Well done!! I just checked the age groups and it appears you were only 2 seconds off the person ahead of you because you gained a lot of ground on that run - fabulous job! A very respectable bike leg too, that new tri bike will serve you well.

Don't sweat the swim, this isn't your A race and you'll be swimming like a fish when Chicago comes around. Besides, I heard that muscles float far better in Lake Michigan than places like Lake Shelbyville ... it's part of being a "Great" Lake, more buoyancy.

It was great hanging out with ya, a family that tri's together stays together right?

Your race report is too modest!  You had a great race.  You just got stronger throughout the morning.  Nice job.

I want more!!! Tell me about the venue!  I was looking at this race to do at one point, but then if confliced with vacation (oh, darn!).  Great race tho. A PR on a run after swimming and biking?  You ROCK.
